Loveable Smiles - Lawrence J. Korenman, DDS & Associates

Full Mouth Restoration

The goal of Full Mouth Restoration is to restore ideal occlusion (bite position) in order to alleviate tension or pain from TMJ Disorder (jaw joint problems), infection from Periodontal Disease, or discontent resulting from an poorly aligned, unattractive smile and give the teeth the best stress distribution possible to enable them to last for a lifetime.

Full Mouth Restoration is the complete restoration of each and every tooth to an optimal shade, length, shape, and position. To determine treatment, Dr. Korenman uses diagnostic technology to relax the jaw muscles. Once he knows where the muscles and jaw are most comfortable, he can apply an orthotic (or "mouth guard") to maintain the comfortable position. For some, establishing an optimal position for long-term comfort may require wearing the orthotic for several weeks to several months before permanent restorations are placed. Once comfort is established with the orthotic, Dr. Korenman will remove old dentistry and prepare each tooth with temporary restorations. During the final visit three to four weeks later, Dr. Korenman will remove the temporaries and permanently "seat" each optimally positioned restoration.
